Household canvass of electors set to start

We are currently undertaking a household canvass across the area.

Every year we are required to check the details of everyone registered to vote in households across Ryedale to ensure the information we hold is up to date. We do this between July and November. We will be contacting all households with the information we currently have on the register for each property and ask them to let us know of any changes.

Residents can help us save money by responding promptly, so that we don’t have to send reminder forms or canvassers to visit and by using the online options. If you provide us with email contact details, we will be able to contact you electronically in the future.

Simon Copley, Ryedale’s Electoral Registration Officer (Interim), said: "We need to make sure that our electoral register records are correct. Being registered to vote gives you the right to participate at elections and referendums and could also improve your credit rating."

Respond online via our secure website.

If you are unsure or require further information, please email the Business and Democracy team or call us on 01653 600666.
