Housing
Changes to our services:
In line with government recommendations around social distancing and home working, we have made some changes to the way we are delivering our services.
- At this time the offices remain open, 10am til 2pm but we are requesting that customers do not come to the office.
- Staff will not be based in the office but will be working from home during this period, so will still be in contact with customers via phone, email and through our Jigsaw Housing system.
- All Housing Options appointments (new cases) will continue but they will be made as telephone appointments only.
- All hospital and prison visits will be made as a telephone appointment only.
- All general home visits will be cancelled unless there is an imminent threat of homelessness and this cannot be undertaken over the phone. Where face to face meetings are required, as an emergency, caution will be taken in line with guidance.
- All tenancy support will be carried out by telephone unless critical.
- All non-essential meetings will be cancelled. Meetings required to maintain delivery of the service are to be undertaken via telephone wherever possible.
- Signage and guidance on COVID-19 is clearly displayed within Ryedale District Council managed properties, this includes the PHE guidance on how to self-isolate.
- We are working to enable accommodation to be made available for people rough sleeping during this current crisis.
- We are still accepting Duty to Refer cases from statutory bodies and encourage agencies to keep referring early to prevent homelessness.
