Community groups and organisations
The social services department provides a list of recognised groups and organisations that provide advice and support for those who may be in need of community care such as the elderly, disabled or those with learning difficulties.

Coast and Vale Community Action (CAVCA) is the Local Infrastructure Organisation for many voluntary and community groups supporting individuals and families in Ryedale. For information on the various groups, contact CAVCA on 01723 362205.
Ryedale Community Transport
Do you have mobility problems, no car of your own or no accessible public transport when you need it? Or you may be fit and well with an opportunity for a job, apprenticeship, training or further education - but no transport to take up that opportunity. Ryedale Community Transport may be able to help.

Bus and trains are provided by private companies for both local and longer distance services in Ryedale. There is an established network of bus routes which cover the entire district and routes to outlying towns and villages and a number of railway stations.
