Who can get rural rate relief?
You may be considered for rural rate relief if your premises are in a rural settlement with a population below 3000. Your premises also need to:
- Be the only general store, post office or food shop and have a rateable value of less than £8,500
- Be the only public house, or petrol station, and have a rateable value of less than £12,500
- Be occupied
What rural rate can I get?
If you are eligible, you could get 100% relief.
We can sometimes give relief on certain other occupied properties in a rural settlement where the rateable value is less than £16,500.
