Countryside volunteers
Countryside volunteers undertake countryside management projects to benefit important wildlife species and habitats in the Ryedale area. For further information email the Countryside Officer.
Volunteers may help to look after the local countryside in a variety of ways. These can include practical work such as repairing footpaths, helping at events, helping visitors to enjoy the area and carrying out visitor surveys.
North Yorkshire County Council offers two main activities for volunteers;
- Rights of way inspections, surveys and low-level maintenance
- Conservation tasks in the Howardian Hills area of outstanding natural beauty
