COVID-19 support for culture organisations

With the rapidly changing nature of the COVID-19 outbreak, information and advice from Government and sector support bodies can change quickly. Please find below links providing advice and guidance for Arts and Heritage organisations; this will be refreshed and updated as new information comes in:

On 24th March The Arts Council announced a £160m emergency funding package to support the arts. As well as support for existing National Portfolio Organisations, this also includes support for those outside of the National Portfolio and support for individual practitioners. On 31st March details of the funds were announced:

  • For organisations that are outside of the National Portfolio:

Please find details of the fund here. Please note there will be two rounds of application opportunities for this fund. Round One will open on Thursday April 9th with a deadline for Thursday April 16th. Round Two will open on Thursday April 16th with a deadline of Thursday 30th.

  • For individual creative practitioners:

Please find details of the fund here. Please note there will be two rounds of application opportunities for this fund. Round One will open on Thursday April 9th with a deadline on Thursday April 16th. Round Two will open on April 16thwirth a deadline of Thursday April 30th.

 Please note: If you wish to apply for these you will need to register for the Arts Council's online application portal, Grantium, details here. You will need to appy no later than 13th April to be able to apply in time for the first round of grants.

On April 1st, a new Heritage Emergency Fund was announced to support the sector. £50million has been allocated for emergency grants towards heritage, including historic sites, industrial and maritime heritage, museums, libraries and archives, parks and gardens, landscapes and nature. Details on how to apply will be announced over the next few days. Current details can be found via the link above.

AIM are lobbying the government to ensure that the UK's independent museums sector at this time will be supported. This site includes a breakdown of the programme of financial support available to the independant museum sector, as well as updates on advocacy news and an online advice surgery.  

 The site contains updates for the Creative Industries Sector, and includes links to Webinair sessions with leading sector specialists.
