Service impacts due to the current Covid-19 national emergency

Household waste recycling centres

Household Waste Recycling Centres run by North Yorkshire County Council will remain open, with some restrictions, during lockdown. But you should stay at home as much as possible so please only use them if you have to.

Textile Recycling Banks

Servicing textile recycling banks has stopped until further notice.

Household Waste and Recycling Centres

Household Waste and Recycling Centres are operated by North Yorkshire County Council and full details of the opening times, what can and cannot be disposed of, what vehicles are allowed to use these centres and any charges that may be made are available on their website.

The sites are located at;

  • Corner of Pasture Lane/Showfield Lane, Malton
  • Caulklands Quarry, Thornton le Dale
  • Wombleton (just off A170)
  • Seamer Carr (near Morrisons supermarket in Scarborough Borough Council area but available for residents of Sherburn and Staxton areas)

All the sites are open every day except Wednesday and on 25 and 26 December and 1 January.
