Household waste disposal (tips) and recycling sites

There are two types of recycling centres in the district.

1. Household Waste and Recycling Centres are operated by North Yorkshire County Council and full details of what can and cannot be disposed of, what vehicles are allowed to use these centres and any charges that may be made are available on their website.

The sites are located at;

  • Corner of Pasture Lane/Showfield Lane, Malton
  • Caulklands Quarry, Thornton le Dale
  • Wombleton (just off A170)
  • Seamer Carr (near Morrisons supermarket in Scarborough Borough Council area but available for residents of Sherburn and Staxton areas)

All the sites are open every day except Wednesday and on 25 and 26 December and 1 January.

2. Mini recycling centres are operated by us and are located across the district to bring recycling facilities closer to you.

The following materials can be recycling at the sites;
