North Yorkshire County Council provides information on the following subjects;
Ryedale District Council works with a variety of partners to undertake countryside management projects to benefit important wildlife species and habitats.
The role of our Countryside Officer is to:
- Provide advice and support to landowners, farmers, interested groups and individuals who wish to carry out practical projects to benefit wildlife and landscape
- Advise farmers and landowners on the governments agri-environmental schemes
- Co-ordinate and implement the Ryedale Biodiversity Action Plan in conjunction with the Ryedale Biodiversity Partnership Group. More information is available in our Biodiversity Action Plan (PDF, 54 pages, 2705kb)
- Work with others to safeguard the most important wildlife sites in Ryedale including Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINCs)
- Access funding to support small, targeted projects that benefit important species and habitats
- Raise awareness of the importance of the wildlife resource in Ryedale
- Provide an ecological input to Ryedale District Council's other activities including development management, street scene and property management work
