Health and safety at work
COVID-19 outbreak
How to work safely during the Coronavirus pandemic:
Guidance to help employers, employees and the self-employed understand how to work safely during the coronavirus pandemic.
The government, in consultation with industry, has produced guidance to help ensure workplaces are as safe as possible.
The 8 guides cover a range of different types of work. Many businesses operate more than one type of workplace, such as an office, factory and fleet of vehicles. You may need to use more than one of these guides as you think through what you need to do to keep people safe.
Closing certain businesses and venues in England
All businesses and venues outlined in the table in the document below must not open to the public: failure to follow the law relating to these closures can lead to the individual responsible for the business being issued a prohibition notice, a fixed penalty notice or prosecution.
Takeaway and delivery services may remain open and operational in line with this guidance. Online retail and click and collect services may continue.
