We are currently looking for a Catering Assistant for long term sickness cover.
Are you a keen cook who enjoys baking and preparing light snacks? Do you receive positive feedback from people who eat your food? We are seeking a food lover who would rise to the challenge to develop and promote our staff canteen service.
The Canteen at Ryedale House, based at the Council’s Headquarters in Malton, provides a daily counter and takeaway service to staff including a tasty lunchtime menu offering hot and cold food, homemade soup and cakes and a range of light bites.
If you are seeking a role in a catering environment and can tempt colleagues to try what’s been cooked up then these opportunities are just for you! We can offer you the chance to demonstrate your culinary skills and promote healthy eating. The role will include responsibility for developing new menus and promoting the in-house canteen service.
You will be an enthusiastic cook or someone who enjoys cooking or baking and is able to work on your own initiative. You’ll have IT skills together with an ability to inspire others to try what’s on offer and to work on your own as well as part of a small team running the staff canteen. In return you will be offered relevant training and the opportunity to be involved in developing and shaping an interesting and tempting canteen service.
The role requires an individual who simply enjoys cooking and a commitment to providing a first-class customer service. Experience of working in the food industry and a customer-facing environment is preferable.
