Abandoned Vehicles

The Clean Neighbourhoods & Environment Act 2005 is legislation giving local authorities new powers to deal with behaviour affecting local environmental issues. There are a number of new powers in the Act, giving Ryedale District Council the opportunity to take firmer action against those who spoil and/or deface the local environment.

Dealing with abandoned vehicles has been time-consuming and expensive duty for local authorities. The above Act has extended the categories of vehicles that may be removed, thus reducing problems of vandalism and fire damage.
