Ryedale District Council

Street lighting

North Yorkshire County Council is responsible for maintaining the majority of street lights in North Yorkshire, identifiable by a number painted in black on a yellow background on the lamp post. You can report a problem with road lighting via the North Yorkshire County Council website.

Some street lights are maintained by Ryedale District Council and can be identified by a number in a blue square. When reporting street light faults, please give the number of the street light, the number (blue), an accurate address/location and the nature of the fault (if known).

For further information, please email us or telephone 01653 600666.
