UK Parliamentary (General) Election

ballot boxRyedale is part of the Thirsk and Malton constituency for Parliamentary elections. The last UK Parliamentary Election in the Thirsk and Malton Constituency took place on 7 May 2015.

A UK general election will now be held on Thursday 8 June after MPs backed Prime Minister Theresa May's call for a snap poll.

The Returning Officer and Deputy Returning Officer are offering election candidates and agents a briefing ahead of the start of the formal parliamentary general election process for the Thirsk and Malton constituency.

This will be on Tuesday 2 May 2017 at 5pm at Ryedale House.

The briefing will outline the election timetable, explain the nomination process and arrangements for postal vote opening, polling day and the count and give candidates the opportunity to pick up nominations forms.
