Place Survey
Ryedale residents have been thanked for adding
their views to a national survey of the way public services are
provided.
As part of the national Place Survey Ryedale
residents took part in a survey to find out just what it is like to
live in their area and how they feel about public services
including local councils, police and health.
Results of the survey have been issued today (Tuesday,
23 June 2009) by the Department of Communities and Local
Government and early signs show that:
- Ryedale residents are satisfied with their local area
(85%)
- Ryedale residents feel they belong to their neighbourhood (70%)
and get on well together with people from different backgrounds in
the local area (81%)
- 75% of Ryedale residents believe they are in good health
Ryedale District Council and North Yorkshire
County Council have worked in partnership on the survey which took
place between September and December 2008.
Results from the survey have already been fed into the Ryedale
Council Plan and will play a key role the way services are
delivered to local people.
“The Place Survey has highlighted the views of
local people on many of the services we provide,” said Cllr Keith
Knaggs, Leader of Ryedale District Council.
“This research has told us how well the
authority is delivering the services we provide and help us to
decide areas for future improvement.”
