New Chairman of Ryedale District Council
Cllr Steve Arnold is the
new Chairman of Ryedale District Council.
The Chairman of Council is elected for one term of office by
fellow Councillors.
The Chairman chairs meetings of the full Council, hosts a number
of Civic events, represents the District Council at ceremonial
occasions and is invited to attend a wide range of events and
presentations.
Councillor Steve Arnold was elected as Chairman on 19 May 2011
and has been a member of Ryedale District Council (RDC) for four
years representing Helmsley. He is married to Val and has lived in
Helmsley for 24 years.
Steve, a chartered forester, has been involved in scouting for
more than 35 years and is a District Explorer Scout Commissioner.
His hobbies include spending time with his family, enjoying being a
grandparent, caravanning, drawing and is currently learning to play
the guitar.
His chosen charities for the year are Marie Curie and Ryedale
Scouts and Guides.

Cowling.
