Ryedale Artists Make Their Mark On North Yorkshire Open Studios
2010 11/12/13 and 19/20 June 2010

It's time once again for North Yorkshire artists to open their
studios to the public. The event is now in it's sixth year and is
growing in popularity and reputation.
Artists work in many different situations, often because of
practical considerations, such as affordability, distance from
home, availability of resources or the sheer beauty of their
surroundings. From beautiful back gardens, a pub, barns and remote
rural locations, the Ryedale section of the North Yorkshire Open
Studios offers plenty of scope for exploration. Fifteen Ryedale
artists will be taking part this year, ranging from jewellers,
sculptors, photographers, glass makers, potters and painters.
Open Studios offers a unique opportunity for the public to meet
individual artists in a diverse range of studios and settings, to
gain an insight into how their work is produced and to buy direct
from the artist.
Over 120 artists are taking part in all this year. If you would
like a free brochure, they are available at local Tourist
Information Centres or contact the organisers, Art Connections on
01756 748529 www.artconnections.org.uk.
Studio opening times for the two weekends (including Friday
11th June) are 10.30am-5.30pm
