Gospel boost for local charities
Local charities look set to benefit from the fund raising
efforts of the Chairman of Ryedale District Council – Cllr Di
Keal.
The York City Gospel Choir is headlining the charity concert to
be held on:
Saturday 27 March
At 7pm
In Saville Street Methodist Church, Malton.
The concert will raise funds for the Chairman's Charities – Next
Steps (a mental health resource centre in Norton, which supports
over 100 members with a variety of mental health difficulties. It
offers various therapeutic activities, peer support and a social
enterprise cafe and also runs outreach services in Pickering and
Kirkbymoorside).
and Jessie's Fund ( based in York, offers music therapy to
children and young people with physical and mental disabilities and
works extensively in children's hospices with terminally ill
youngsters.)
The 30 strong York City Gospel Choir, under musical director
Kofi Mensah and choral director Heather Mensah, will perform a
variety of gospel songs new and old.

Chairman, Di Keal said: " I have heard fantastic reports of the
York City Gospel Choir and their inspirational performances, so I
am really looking forward to the concert.
"This will be my final charity event as this years Chairman of
Ryedale District Council and I would like to thank everyone who has
supported my fund raising events during the past year.
"It would be great to see the chapel full on 27 March and the
event sold out to give a big final boost to my funds for two very
deserving local charities."
