Amusement Licences

Gaming Act 1968

Lotteries and Amusement Act 1976

This licence applies to premises where machines, constructed or adapted for playing a game of chance by means of inserting money or tokens, are used. These premises require a permit.

Permits are issued by the Council, by the Licensing Justices or The Gaming Board depending on the type of premises involved.

NB: The above legislation has been amended by the Licensing Act 2003 on 24 November 2005 and the Gambling Act 2005 on 1 September 2007 .
