Mental Health

North Yorkshire County Council Social Services team has a duty to assess people over 18 who have, or appear to have, an illness or a disability and may benefit from receiving Community Care services.

The assessment may be by Social Services staff or may begin with other colleagues such as nurses, or doctors. Some Social Services staff work in Community Mental Health or Learning Disabilities teams.
