Dog Bins

It is estimated that the UK dog population produces 1,000 tonnes of faeces every day.

If you think there is a need for a dog bin in your area, please contact your local town or parish council or contact Streetscene for more information. Dog bins around the district are provided by the local town or parish councils. Ryedale District Council has installed dog bins on our own property where appropriate.

The design of the bin ensures that the waste is contained and any smells or unpleasantness are kept to a minimum. Some dog bins have dispensers for dog waste bags close by, which are designed to help you easily pick up after your dog.

We are working in partnership with North Yorkshire Police to allow local Police Community Support Officers and the Council's own officers to issue Fixed Penalty Notices for littering and dog fouling.
