Planning

Ryedale District Council's Planning Service is made up of three sections:

Foward Planning and Conservation is responsible for the Local Plan and the Local Development Framework which provide policies to guide and encourage future development in Ryedale. It is also responsible for conservation of Ryedale’s historic and natural environment. The forward planning team can be contacted at forwardplanning@ryedale.gov.uk and on extension 335.

Development Control... deals with the processing of Planning Applications, taking account of the Ryedale Local Plan policies, Government guidance and the individual merits of each scheme, in order to control development in Ryedale in the public interest.

To view planning applications online our Planning Applications Register allows you to search for planning applications by reference, date, address, parish and applicant. Relevant information is displayed and documents can be view on applications from 2007 onwards.

Building Control... ensures that building works comply with the health, safety, energy conservation and access for the disabled requirements as laid down in the Building Regulations and Building Acts.
