To carry out house-to-house collections for charitable
purposes in England and Wales you need a licence from the local
authority. Applications must be in the form prescribed by the local
authority.
You must be a fit and proper person.
No provision in the legislation.
How long will it take to receive the
licence?
Following receipt of the application form and any necessary
attachments you can expect to hear from us normally
within 28 days.
Tacit Consent applies: this means that you will be able to act
as though your application is granted if you have not heard from us
by the end of the target period. If you have not heard
from us within a reasonable period please contact us. You

Failed Application Redress
Please contact the local authority in the first
